"PID in Schools" Project
May 2025
This May, we had the opportunity to accompany Olivia, a patient cared for at the UPIIP, on a very special visit to her school: the I4 class at Les Fonts School in Gelida.
Together with her 4-year-old classmates, we held workshops and sang songs to learn— in a fun and age-appropriate way— what the immune system is, how PID symptoms appear, and what treatments involve. We also talked about emotions, because understanding how we feel is just as important as understanding what is happening to us.
Additionally, we donated workbooks and games about the immune system to the school library, so that knowledge can continue to grow both inside and outside the classroom.
Both Olivia and her family experienced this moment with great joy, and the school welcomed us warmly and with deep gratitude.
Thank you to the entire Les Fonts educational community for helping us raise awareness about PIDs through education and empathy.
