Andrea Martin, patron of the BCN PID Foundation and assistant of the Infectious Pathology and Immunodeficiency Unit of Pediatrics of the Vall d'Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus, has participated in an article in the Portuguese newspaper Publico on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the death of David Vetter, one of the first bubble children afflicted with severe combined immunodeficiency.
This report highlights the importance of neonatal screening for early diagnosis of this serious disease.
