The foundation travels to Leiden, Netherlands

October 2018

Last weekend, two members of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Immunodeficiencies Unit (UPIIP) traveled to Leiden, Netherlands, to meet European experts in primary immunodeficiencies (PID).

On one hand, the UPIIP predoctoral researcher and Foundation volunteer, Marina Garcia-Prat, presented a newly described PID "GIMAP5 deficiency" at the biannual meeting of the P-CID Observational Study. On the other hand, Dr. Andrea Martín-Nalda, the foundation's secretary, presented the experience of Catalonia with the Neonatal Screening for Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID), at the annual meeting "Inborn Errors Working Party (IEWP)" organized by the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT).

We keep on working on PID research and to disseminate these rare diseases.
