New international scholarship awarded by the BCN PID Foundation

July 2021

Emma is a 17-month-old girl who lives in Lima (Peru) and was diagnosed with primary immunodeficiency (PID), specifically severe congenital neutropenia due to a mutation in the ELANE gene, which puts her at a very high risk of severe infections. On July 20th 2021 we had a teleconference with the family and we were able to meet her.

Emma and her family have benefited from one of the BCN PID Foundation's international grants to be able to treat their disease with a haematopoietic stem cell transplant that will take place in Italy in 2021.

We wish you good luck!
