Program for the Transition from Adolescence to Adulthood at Vall d’Hebron
August 2024
Vall d'Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus and the BCN-PID Foundation continue to make progress in supporting patients with PID. Since 2015, the Foundation has been driving the program ‘Tinc una IDP. No estic Sol’ to assist both the children and adolescents treated at Vall d'Hebron and their families in coping with the disease in all its areas of impact. They have also launched the project ‘Tinc IDP. Ja soc gran i no estic sol’ to improve the emotional well-being of adult patients with PID.
In this context, the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital hosted a meeting in late June with adolescent and young adult patients who share common characteristics related to their PID diagnosis. The goal was to foster group cohesion and develop their empowerment.
Eight patients participated in the meeting, which they described as very satisfactory. This initiative is another step forward within "Som-hi!", the Transition Program from Adolescence to Adulthood at Vall d'Hebron.
